加拿大哈利法克斯市Dalhousie University博后招聘 南迪卡博士简介 https://www.dal.ca/faculty/agric ... andika-bandara.html 实验室条件以及待遇都很不错。欢迎大家咨询和投递简历。详细请查看附件pdf。具体信息如下: Postdoctoral Research Fellow Position – Dalhousie University Postdoctoral Research Fellow Position Available – Keratin based advanced functional materials for wound healing Job Description: Dr. Bandara’s research group at Department of Plant, Food and Environmental Sciences at Dalhousie University (Truro, Nova Scotia, Canada) seeks highly motivated and exceptional postdoctoral researcher in the area of renewable biopolymer based wound healing material applications with an anticipated start date of 1st September 2019. Initial appointment is for one year with possibility of renewal for another year upon the performance of the candidate. Our group is working on interdisciplinary research themes on advanced biomaterials/bioproducts, biopolymer-based packaging applications, and biopolymer based nanoencapsulation using agricultural/food industry byproduct proteins. The successful candidate will use the knowledge and experience in material science, material chemistry, green chemistry, nanotechnology and food science/engineering towards developing novel keratin extraction methods from poultry feathers, modification of keratin using chemical, biomimetic and nanotechnological approaches, fabrication of hydrogels and electrospun fiber mats, and wound healing experiments in cell culture and animal models. Desired Qualification and Skills: • PhD in chemistry/biomedical engineering/chemical engineering or closely related field, with a focus on polymer chemistry, biopolymer applications, material science, wound healing, and nanotechnology. • Experience in biopolymer separation (experience with keratin would be ideal), modifications and processing methods and polymer applications in wound healing. • Demonstrated knowledge & experience in analytical characterizations of polymers/biopolymers (XPS, XRD, GPC, DSC, FTIR, SEM, DMA, TEM, AFM etc.) & property analysis (mechanical, Thermal). • Experience in cell culture models and animal experiment will be considered an asset. • Candidates with previous research experience in wound healing materials will be given priority. • Competency with statistical analysis, data processing and visualization software. • Demonstrated ability of conduct independent research projects with a strong track record in high impact peer-reviewed publication. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a dynamic and diverse team environment. • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment. Duties and Responsibilities: • Develop novel green extraction methods to extract keratin from poultry feathers and wool. • Modification of keratin using green chemical, nanotechnological and biomimetic approaches to improve mechanical, thermal and biological properties of keratin. • Develop novel hydrogels & electrospun fiber mats for wound healing in cell culture & animal models. • Perform literature and patent searches to guide experimentation, supervise graduate students, and collaborate with PI to write grant proposals. • Summarize experimental strategies and data analysis in written reports and presentations for communication with peers, industry partners, and other stakeholders. • Publish research results in high impact peer-reviewed scientific or technical journals and present results at external conferences, seminars, and/or technical meetings.
