There are PhD openings at the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering University of Florida in the group of Professor Katerina Aifantis. 1. Focus on the atomistic simulations of interaction between dislocation and interface such as grain boundary. Interested applicants should be proficient in performing and analyzing molecular dynamics simulation and have good background on dislocation mechanics. 2. Focus on examining cell adhesion/differentiation on scaffolds. Interested applicants should be proficient in nanomaterial fabrication, cell culture, SEM, TEM, AFM operation and characterization and have good background on mechanobiology.
