We are recruiting one PhD student, starting from Oct 2019. The main topics for this position include block chain, distributed database, data analysis. The applicants are expected to have extensive programming skills, and also knowledge in data science and/ or block chain and its applications. This PhD project will be jointly supervised by Dr Nanlin Jin and Prof David Kirk. David is an international research leader in HCI and social computing. He has managed over ￡4m research grants and is managing a ￡1m research centre, ‘digital living’ (https://www.northumbria.ac.uk/about-us/our-staff/k/david-kirk/). Dr Jin was a leader of Innovate UK grant and has supervised post-doc and PhD students. She was the academic lead to an Innovate UK, successfully completed in March 2019. She has supervised PhD students and research assistants to publish their work in top quality journals (https://www.northumbria.ac.uk/about-us/our-staff/j/nanlin-jin/).
