Karimov group at the Auburn University Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry is seeking a postdoctoral fellow skilled in multistep synthesis and catalysis. We are a synthetic organic chemistry group focused on transition metal catalyzed methodology development and application of these methodologies to the synthesis of natural products, and synthesis and functionalization of peptides.
An ideal candidate will have a PhD in organic chemistry with experience in either multistep synthesis or transition metal catalysis (ideally both) and a proven track record of accomplishments demonstrated through peer-reviewed publications. Required experience includes strong abilities to carry out multistep synthesis, analytical techniques and purification, strong organizational, communication skills, mentoring junior colleagues and record keeping habits. The position offers competitive salary, benefits and professional training. The successful applicant will be assessed on his/her productivity on an annual basis with the option of annual renewal if agreed upon by both parties.
