博士后位置1:

type:
research scientist (m/f/d), postdoc, tv-l 13, 100%, 2 years, thin film materials libraries

job description:

the chair for mems materials at the institute for materials is developing new multifunctional materials by using combinatorial deposition processes (material libraries) and high-throughput characterization methods. for this we use a variety of unique experimental setups (6 combinatorial sputter chambers and high-throughput test stands).

in order to strengthen the international and efficient team, the position of a postdoc (m/f/d) is to be occupied as soon as possible. the topic will be “discovery of new multinary multifunctional materials by synthesis and characterization of thin film materials libraries”. the task area of the postdoc (m/f/d) will comprise experimental works (synthesis of materials libraries, high-throughput characterization), supporting the professor by applying for third-party funds (e.g. networking with industry partners, writing project proposals), working on industry and public funded projects as well as mentoring students (bachelor- and master-thesis) and phd students.

we are looking for a highly motivated scientist (m/f/d) with a very good knowledge in the field of materials science and thin films, who dares to approach new, exciting and promising topics in an interdisciplinary environment and who has the ambition, with the available extraordinary experimental possibilities, to efficiently generate new scientific knowledge, publish the results and transfer them into possible applications.

your profile:

-        completed doctorate with very good degree in the field of mechanical engineering (focus on materials), materials science, solid state physics or materials chemistry
-        practical experience in the synthesis of thin films (preferably magnetron-sputtering)
-        practical experience in the characterization of thin films, e.g. sem, edx, xrd, spm
-        proven excellent publication record and interest in further publications
-        experience in the field of project management
-        willingness and capability of teaching

it is expected from the future postdoc (m/f/d) to work independently with a high motivation, to work with target-oriented teams, to document the results achieved in the form of reports and scientific publication, having very good scientific, technical and communication skills, english language fluent in speaking and writing.

your tasks:
-        synthesis of thin-film materials libraries
-        high-throughput characterization of thin-film materials libraries
-        support writing of project proposals
-        perform on industry and public funded projects
-        mentoring students

please send your complete and informative application documents (informative cover letter, cv with certificates, 3 publications) as one pdf document by e-mail to:

Type of Offer:
Research Scientist (m/f/d), postdoc, TV-L 13, 100%, 2 years, MEMS for combinatorial materials science

Job description:

The chair for MEMS materials at the Institute for Materials is developing new multifunctional materials by using combinatorial deposition processes (material libraries) and high-throughput characterization methods. For this we develop MEMS such as electrode-, cantilever-, microhotplate- and nanoneedle-arrays, to use as tools for high-throughput materials science. All technologies for fabricating these MEMS (especially dry etching equipment) are available at our chair and in the new science building ZGH.

In order to strengthen the international and efficient team at the department, the position of a postdoc (m/f/d) is to be occupied as soon as possible. The topic will be “Fabrication and characterization of MEMS for combinatorial materials science”. The task area of the postdoc (m/f/d) will comprise experimental work (design, fabrication and characterization of MEMS, maintenance of deposition and etching systems), supporting the professor by applying for third-party funds (e.g. networking with industry partners, writing project proposals), working on industry and public funded projects as well as mentoring students (bachelor- and master-thesis) and PhD students.

We are looking for a highly motivated scientist (m/f/d) with a very good knowledge in the field of MEMS technology (and preferably materials science), who dares to approach new, exciting and promising topics in an interdisciplinary environment and who has the ambition, with the available extraordinary experimental possibilities, to efficiently generate new scientific knowledge, publish the results and transfer them into possible applications.

Your Profile:

-        Completed doctorate with very good degree in the field of microsystems technology
-        Practical experience in the fabrication of MEMS
-        Practical experience in the characterization of MEMS and thin films, e.g. SEM, EDX, XRD, SPM
-        Proven excellent publication record and interest in further publications
-        Experience in the field of project management
-        Willingness and capability of teaching

It is expected from the future postdoc (m/f/d) to work independently with a high motivation, to work with target-oriented teams, to document the results achieved in the form of reports and scientific publication, having very good scientific, technical and communication skills, English language fluent both spoken and written.

Your Tasks:
-        Design, fabrication and characterization of MEMS structures
-        Maintenance of deposition and etching systems
-        Support writing of project proposals
-        Perform on industry and public funded projects
-        Mentoring students
