we test the Polarimetry activity to determine whether the compound is Chiral Compounds. we tested the polarimetry activity for the compounds which are potentially chiral. All synthesized Schiff bases and their coordinates are powered substances but with different colours, which are stable when exposed in the air. Experiments reveal that: 1. it is nitrogen atom or oxygen atom in phenolic hydroxy group who acts as the coordinating site to form M-N bond or M-O bond, when Schiff base ligands form corresponding coordination compounds. 2. polarimetry activity still exist in s-binaphthyl amine Schiff bases and corresponding coordinations by reacting with s-binaphtyhl amines with high purity. 3. D- and L- enantiomer was obtained individually when a racemic mixture of binaphtyl amine was separated. |
