弗吉尼亚大学医学院分子，细胞，和神经生物学博士后 （March 4，2019更新） 已有8人参与

弗吉尼亚大学医学院Prof. Ai 课题组（https://med.virginia.edu/ai-lab）招收分子，细胞，和神经生物学博士后 简介：实验室的主要研究方向是开发基于荧光蛋白和萤光素酶的分子探针，并运用这些分子探针研究神经生物学，氧化还原及代谢生物学， 以及糖尿病的分子机制。实验室也有项目通过蛋白工程和合成化学开发新的治疗糖尿病，耐药细菌以及流感的方法。实验室课题横跨化学，生物医学，和生物工程几个领域 （PI是以上3个系的教授）。 实验室主持NIH，NSF以及DoD的多个项目。未来几年的资金有保障。实验室常年在主流刊物包括自然子刊美国化学会志 （JACS）上发表文章。仪器设备好，自己拥有较好的荧光共聚焦显微镜，荧光电生理显微镜。也有2台几个实验室共享的超分辨荧光显微镜。我们希望招收分子，细胞，和神经生物学背景的博士后。希望申请者要么对分子克隆或者蛋白/病毒工程很在行，要么对光学显微镜或者细胞生物学很在行，或者熟悉神经电生理。不要求以前研究过相同的生物问题，只要求有相关的技术背景。希望能招收到想走学术道路的博士后，相信你之后可以结合我们的较新的研究手段和你的背景开创出你独特的研究方向。也欢迎打算去工业界工作的优秀博士后，对实验室有足够贡献之后会尽力帮助你申请绿卡。具体要求见：https://med.virginia.edu/ai-lab/wp-content/uploads/sites/365/2018/05/position_ad-180506.pdf 弗吉尼亚大学简介：弗吉尼亚大学是由美国开国元勋，独立宣言起草者，第三任总统托马斯·杰斐逊于1819年创建的美国历史上首个独立于教会的高校，是美国最顶尖公立大学之一，在学术界享有盛誉。自U.S.News开始颁布全美大学排名以来，弗吉尼亚大学始终名列全美最佳公立大学的前三名 （与加利福尼亚大学伯克利和洛杉矶分校）。 注1: 现在实验室在今年夏天会收到新的NIH资助。特别想找一个对神经电生理有背景的研究者。有Alzheimer‘s背景的优先 注2: 也希望找到一个有细胞生物学+live cell imaging背景的研究者，主要研究beta cell function和insulin signaling |

The Ai laboratory (https://med.virginia.edu/ai-lab/) uses interdisciplinary approaches in chemistry, engineering, biophysics, and physiology to study and manipulate complex biological systems, with a focus on the development of novel molecular biosensors to peer into cells and organisms to understand biosignaling and communications. We hope to identify candidates with strong interests in development of genetically encoded imaging tools, such as fluorescent and bioluminescent biosensors. Essential skills are: molecular cloning, gene library construction and screening, and bacterial and mammalian cell culture. Preferred skills are: electrophysiology, cell biology, genomics, viral engineering, phage display, yeast surface display, fluorescent proteins, genetic code expansion, gene editing, or directed protein/enzyme/antibody evolution. Our lab has also developed new interests in development of genetically encoded tools for PET or MRI imaging. Thus, any candidate with skills in PET or MRI imaging is welcome to apply. Furthermore, we hope to identify candidates with strong interests in applying our developed biosensors to biological questions. In particular, we welcome candidates with previous training in redox biology, neurobiology, beta-cell biology, insulin signaling, and/or diabetes. An integration of tool development skills with your biology expertise is expected to broaden your career path! 如果你认为这是个concern的话，欢迎发信联系实验室已有的lab member。我觉得我是个reasonable的人。 实验室很多中国人有历史和现实的因素。实验室2年前刚搬了，只有5个中国人一起搬过来了。然后实验室短期内膨胀了，找了不少中国来的薄厚。现实中，美国人愿意做博后的人很少了（如果有优秀的也去了最top的名校）确实这个行业有报酬低 工作强度大的影响。但是这不是我这个level的人能解决的。找工作只能说是双向选择。合不来可以平和的”分手“。怎么说呢？至少我也为愿意出国做研究的想做研究的一些人提供了出路吧。更高层次的问题我解决不了。 现实中最top的实验室，老板是美国人的，压力也不会比我们小。只是他们的学生博后也许更加自觉 质量更好。我可能只是想办法用我能招的到人 尽量多做点实验。同一个大学的有些美国老板实验室，工作压力也许小一些。但是可以说压力小的实验室，基本上没钱招博士后做实验。可以说，基本上很难找到funding level 和productivity level和我们实验室差不多（或者比我们好），然后工作压力比我们小很多的。 我们实验室基本上是周一到周五早上9点到下午6点。周末的话 原则上希望大家能工作一天（或者两个半天），但是没做到的也有很多。每周工作48小时的要求真的不算多。 |
