Dr Simone是年轻有为牛人,主要研究领域包括静电催化,电化学,单分子纳米技术,表面化学等;精通AFM,STM,有机合成;在Nature, Chemical Society Review, JACS, ACS nano, Advanced Materials, Nano letters,等顶级杂志发表多篇文章;还成功申请到多项博后基金,如澳洲的DECRA (了解的都知道,这些博后基金都很难申请) 以及之前University of Wollongong大学的Vice-Chancellor research fellowship,所以说是非常有实力的哦。更重要的是,他是一个非常nice的人,能够及时的与自己的学生沟通交流并且一起做实验。 Project Description Electric fields as a chemical reagent – Electrostatic catalysis in diffusive systems This PhD project seeks to demonstrate how chemical catalysis by an electric field can allow unmatched control on chemical reactivity. From making drugs that heal to glues that seal, chemists make use of catalytic processes. One of the received wisdoms is that a catalyst is a specific molecule, engineered for a specific reaction. We have recently demonstrated the first experimental links between the polarity of an external static electric field and chemical rates – questioning our understanding of chemical reactivity and transforming our view of catalysis. A specific catalyst can be replaced by a generic electric field stimulus, enabling cleaner and cheaper opportunities that current technologies cannot fulfil.
