美国乔治华盛顿大学环境工程博士招生2019年秋季入学

Two PhD positions in Environmental Engineering at George Washington University The Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at the George Washington University invites applications for two Ph.D. Research Assistant positions within the research group of Dr. Xitong Liu. These positions are expected to start in the fall 2019 or spring 2020 semester. The selected candidates will be fully supported with stipend, full tuition, and benefits. Dr. Liu received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Nanjing University and Ph.D. degree from the Johns Hopkins University. He has been a postdoctoral associate at Carnegie Mellon University since 2017. He is starting an assistant professor position in the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering at the George Washington University in August 2019. Dr. Liu’s first-author peer-reviewed papers include 3 in Environmental Science & Technology, 2 in Langmuir, 1 in Environmental Science: Nano, and 1 in Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics. He is the recipient of the prestigious American Chemical Society C. Ellen Gonter Environmental Chemistry Award (2017) and Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-Financed Students (2017). The prospective Ph.D. students will be conducting research on one of the following areas: environmental implications and applications of nanotechnology, electrochemical technologies for water treatment, and fundamental interfacial science studies with applications in water treatment and resource recovery. The ideal Ph.D. candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Science & Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree with research experience is highly desirable but not required. Ph.D. candidates should submit applications to the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering through https://graduate.admissions.gwu.edu/application-process (the deadline will be extended for students applying for these positions) and indicate Dr. Liu as a potential advisor.
