The psychological term flow(心流) refers to the mental state of operation in which a person performing an activity is fully immersed in a feeling of energized focus in the process of that activity. Flow-ly working makes one feel fulfilling while distractive working makes one prone to getting drained. That's why soaking in books/articles can be enjoyable while a busy day piled with trivial tasks makes one extremely tired.
