The presence of delta ferrite in the austenitic stainless steels(ASSs) impairs corrosion resistance, promotes cracking at delta ferrite/austenite interface, and provides suitable nucleation sites of new recrystallized grains during hot deformation which in turn can adversely affect the homogeneity of microstructure and can lead to flowlocalization. |
