For 31P, it is definitely going to couple with ipso-C. For N, there are two isotopes, 15N (I=1/2) and 14N (I=1). Theoretically, there is coupling between N(14, 15) and 13C. Because the natural abundance of 15N is only about 0.3%, the coupling between 15N and 13C is too weak to be observed. On the other hand, 14N, 97% in natural abundance, has large quadrupolarit. This causes the broadening of ipso-C signal, so the coupling is also hardly observed. |
