版内有同名著作,但不是同一本 Air Pollution Reviews - Vol. 3 AIR POLLUTION AND HEALTH by Jon Ayres (University of Aberdeen, UK), Robert Maynard (UK Department of Health, UK) & Roy Richards (University of Cardiff, UK) Publisher: World Scientific Publishing Company Number Of Pages: 264 Publication Date: 2006-09-15 ISBN-10 / ASIN: 1860941915 ISBN-13 / EAN: 9781860941917 Binding: Hardcover Book Description: This invaluable volume, the third in the series Air Pollution Reviews, addresses particular questions relating to air pollution and its effect on health. It deals with the impact of nasal disease on lung exposure, how pollutants are distributed within the lung, and the uncertainties with regard to defining the dose to the lung. It takes a tangential look at the lung dose by exploring the possibility of obtaining clues from occupational medicine. Toxicologically, the book examines the possible methodology for exploring how particles and their toxicity can be investigated, and looks into the cardio-toxic effects of air pollution. The effects of pollutant mixtures are compared with those of individual pollutants. In addition, the question of the importance of acid aerosols is tackled. Epidemiologically, the book deals with the problems associated with point sources as opposed to diffuse sources of air pollution, and considers whether the health effects of air pollution can be adequately quantified. These areas, though difficult, need to be addressed, in order to develop our knowledge of the health effects of air pollution. In this volume, a strong panel of authors treat the issues. They have raised questions but at the same time succeeded in solving a number of problems. Contents: The Role of the Nose in Health and Disease (R Eccles) Cardiovascular Effects of Particles (H C Routledge & J G Ayres) Point Sources of Air Pollution — Investigation of Possible Health Effects Using Small Area Methods (P Elliott) Characterisation of Airborne Particulate Matter and Related Mechanisms of Toxicity: An Experimental Approach (K Bérubé et al.) Acid Aerosols as a Health Hazard (L C Chen et al.) Testing New Particles (K Donaldson et al.) Valuing the Health Impact of Air Pollution: Deaths, DALYs or Dollars? (A E M de Hollander & J M Melse) Readership: Government bodies, environmentalists, scientists in the field of air pollution, undergraduate and graduate students. http://rapidshare.com/files/74094454/Ayr1860941915.rar Vol 2 http://muchong.com/bbs/viewthread.php?tid=1284518 学习交流,请勿他用! 其他两卷介绍: Air Pollution Reviews - Vol. 1 THE URBAN ATMOSPHERE AND ITS EFFECTS edited by Peter Brimblecombe (University of East Anglia) & Robert L Maynard (Department of Health, London) Air Pollution Reviews will provide state-of-the-art reviews of key problems in air pollution science. Leading research workers and key figures from the regulatory and industrial communities will contribute detailed and yet accessible accounts of areas in which they have recognised expertise. The series will run to five volumes, the first being more general than the succeeding volumes. In Volume 1, current perceptions of the effects of air pollutants on health will be reviewed. Recent epidemiological data on the links between particles and effects on health and the methods used to investigate these associations will be critically assessed. For students reading environmental science and those beginning research on air pollution and its effects, regulatory toxicologists and physicians with an interest in environmental medicine, this series will be a central source of up-to-date, critically reviewed information. Contents: Urban Air Pollution (P Brimblecombe) Trends in Air Pollution Related Disease (W S Tunnicliffe & J G Ayres) An Introduction to Statistical Issues in Air Pollution Epidemiology (F Hurley) Cancer and Air Pollution (L Rushton) Particulate Air Pollution (R L Maynard) Alternative Fuels (J S Gaffney & N A Marley) Mechanism of Toxicity of Gaseous Air Pollutants (D G Housley & R J Richards) Air Pollution Policy in the European Commission (R L Maynard & K M Cameron) Risks, Estimation, Management and Perception (M Jantunen) Air Pollution and Information Resource (G LeGouais et al.) Readership: Final year students in environmental science. "This book offers a perspective about the situation overseas that may be valuable in libraries that support extensive environmental programs." Choice Air Pollution Reviews - Vol. 4 AIR POLLUTION IMPACTS ON CROPS AND FORESTSA Global Assessment edited by Lisa Emberson (University of York, UK), Mike Ashmore (University of Bradford, UK) & Frank Murray (Murdoch University, Australia) Preface (88k) Table of Contents (83k) Chapter 1: Air Pollution Impacts on Crops and Forests: An Introduction (269k) 可到此处下载这部分介绍 http://www.worldscibooks.com/environsci/p244.html Air pollution is a problem affecting every part of our planet however, its global effects are poorly understood. This book provides the first truly global assessment of the scale of impacts of air pollution on crops and forests. The core of the book comprises assessments of the problem by experts from 12 different countries on every continent — describing the evidence of air pollution effects on crop yields and forest vitality with regard to environmental policies. These analyses are placed in the context of a global assessment of the scale of current and future air pollution levels, as well as in the socio-economic context of local production systems. Contents: Air Pollution Impacts on Crops and Forests Air Pollution Impacts on Vegetation in Industrialised Countries Air Pollution Impacts on Vegetation in Developing Countries Readership: Upper level graduates, graduate students and researchers in environmental science, botany and ecology, as well as environmental managers, agronomists and forest managers. Readership: Upper level graduates, graduate students and researchers in environmental science, botany and ecology, as well as environmental managers, agronomists and forest managers.
