Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Nanyang Technological University

Singapore Center of 3D Printing (http://sc3dp.ntu.edu.sg/Pages/Home.aspx) has a joint lab with one of the largest chemical companies in the world called Evonik (https://corporate.evonik.com/en/). We are about to start a project with Evonik to study the fast curing mechanism of nanoparticle fillers in the curing behaviour of photochemical resin. The contract is two years, and the candidate will work closely with Evonik and the company researchers in their company lab newly launched in Singapore. After the two years’ term, the candidate has good opportunity to work the company Evonik either in Singapore or in Germany if his/her performance is good. The monthly salary will be $4000 and up to $6500 depending on qualification. Health insurance is included with additional employee benefits offered by NTU, Singapore. The candidate is expected to have solid background of polymer synthesis, preferable knows well about polymer photochemistry and has experience in synthesis of photopolymers. Background in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering are preferred. Job Description: We look for a PhD degree holder who has background in photopolymer formulation with nanoparticle/nanofillers. The job will involve largely the photopolymer formulation, studying of UV polymer curing and its behaviour, and selectin of nanofillers to modify curing behaviours. The work is a collaboration with one of the largest chemical company Evonik. Candidate will in charge of the coordination and smooth collaboration with industry partner. We look for candidates that are strong coordination skill and project management experience. Industrial experience is a plus. Job Requirements: - PhD Degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related - Background in polymer science and photopolymer chemistry, colloid science, dispersion of nanoparticles in a liquid matrix. - Experience in photopolymer formulation, studying of UV polymer curing and its behaviour, and selection of nanofillers to modify curing behaviours. - Experience in characterization tools for polymer properties - Experience in polymer 3D printing is a plus but not required Min.
