98年全市高校教师有25000人，博士生导师750人，占全国的13.9%。 78年至今，公派出国人数为18000人。
In 1998, there are 25,000 full time teachers in colleges and universitie s, 750 of whom are supervisors for doctoral degree candidates, accounting for 13.9 percent of the whole country. Since 1978, there have been 18,000 people sent abroad at the expense of the government.
