澳大利亚UWA Yit-Heng Chooi 教授招聘天然产物生物合成方向优秀博士生(全奖资助)

今年入学，全额奖学金，做放线菌的基因组挖掘。 希望招到天然产物化学或是有放线菌经验的优秀博士生。 Funded PhD position available to start immediately at The University of Western Australia (one of group 8 universities in Australia) Dr. Yit-Heng Chooi (ARC Future Fellow)'s research group on Genome Mining of Actinomycetes. The Chooi research group in collaboration with Dr. Andrew Piggott at Macquarie University and Industry partners (MST and AVT) have recently won $3m from the Australian Commonwealth Government（under the CRC-P scheme） for research on discovery of new antibiotics from Australian microbes. https://www.news.uwa.edu.au/2018 ... drug-resistant-bugs https://www.medianet.com.au/releases/166115/ The project will involve the use of state-of-art genome mining tools to discover new antibiotics and biosynthetic pathways. The project will have access to microbial culture collection of nearly 500,000 strains, where hundreds of them will be sequenced under this project. The Chooi group is seeking to recruit a PhD student of high calibre to embark on this project as soon as possible (recent Master graduates are encourage to apply). The PhD stipend will be directly funded under this grant (not a separate scholarship application) along with a tuition fees waiver from UWA. Students from Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Pharmacy/Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical/Biomolecular Engineering background are encouraged to apply. Candidate will be selected based on the suitability for this project by Dr. Chooi, Dr. Piggott (Macquarie) and Dr Lacey (MST).
