We are seeking for an outstanding candidate to fill a full time postdoctoral position in the areas of organic chemistry, polymer science, and materials chemistry at the School of Materials Science and Engineering, Nanyang Technological University Singapore. The candidate will explore the synthesis of polymers via ATRP, RAFT or anionic polymerization as well as hybrid nanostructured materials synthesis using various material synthesis techniques and processes. You will be part of a young and growing research group working at the forefront of interdisciplinary materials science. Requirements: • PhD in Materials Chemistry, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or any relevant science and engineering disciplines. • The candidate is familiar with standard Schlenk line techniques, polymer synthesis (via ATRP, RAFT, anionic polymerization), and standard material characterization methods such as NMR, TEM, SEM, XRD. • Experience with polymer synthesis and other related organic materials synthesis is essential. • Prior experience or interest in semiconductor processing is a bonus but not a requirement. • You are driven, independent and resourceful. • Fluent in English (both written and spoken) and good communication skills Interested candidates, please send to following to Prof. Tan at kwtan@ntu.edu.sg. • Updated resume • 2-3 reference letters • Statement of research interest About the PI: Dr. Tan Kwan Wee is an Assistant Professor of Materials Science and Engineering at Nanyang Technological University (NTU). He earned his Ph.D. from Cornell University, M.Eng. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, M.Sc. from the National University of Singapore and B.Eng. from Nanyang Technological University, all in materials science and engineering. His research group is exploring new integrated approaches with self-assembly as the basis, which would enable rapid scalable synthesis of new functional material structures and combinations that are promising for both existing and emerging applications. |
