[交流] Random Question that popped up in my head

When I think of the terms “witch” and “witchcraft”, I usually think of a female witch instead of a male.

How about you? Why do you think that is the case?

(I am thinking maybe because of the patriarchal society back in the medieval times. Maybe the males thought they are so superior than women, that when they think of bad intentions, they can just skip over themselves and went on blaming the females.)

I think because witch is usually a term for females and wizard is the term for males. Both of them refer to people who practice magic
