ÃÀ¹úÄÚ»ª´ï´óѧÀ×ŵ·ÖУ»úеϵÕÐÆ¸»úÆ÷È˼°¿ØÖÆ·½ÏòÈ«½±²©Ê¿¼°·ÃÎÊѧÉúѧÕß PhD and Visiting Positions in Robotics and Control at the University of Nevada Reno The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Nevada Reno (UNR) invites application for multiple PhD and visiting student/scholar positions in areas of robotics and control starting in 2019 Spring or 2019 Fall. Fully financial support of Research Assistantship ($1,900/month) will be provided for PhD students. The students will work with Dr. Jun Zhang (https://jzhang.eng.ucsd.edu/), who will join UNR in 2018 Fall. Successful candidates should be highly self-motivated to pursue independent and interdisciplinary research. Background in one or more of the following areas is desirable: controls, robotics, smart materials, and artificial muscles. Hands-on experience with 3D printing, sensors, actuators, and micro-controllers is a plus. About Dr. Jun Zhang Dr. Zhang will join the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Nevada Reno in 2018 Fall, as an Assistant Professor. He is currently a postdoctoral scholar in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of California, San Diego. He received the B.S. degree in Automation from the University of Science and Technology of China, Hefei, China, in 2011, and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Michigan State University in 2015. He was the recipient of the Student Best Paper Competition Award at the ASME Conference on Smart Materials, Adaptive Structures, and Intelligent Systems (SMASIS 2012), and the Best Conference Paper in Application Award at the ASME Dynamic Systems and Control Conference (DSCC 2013), and was named the Electrical Engineering Outstanding Graduate Student at Michigan State University for 2014¨C2015. |
