Senior Optical design and testing Engineer Essential skills: • Should possess a PhD degree in one of the engineering field: optical engineering, electrical & electronic/material engineering, Material science or physics etc. • At least 3 years of hands-on experience in optical design and system development areas • Experience on precision optical system alignment, installation and problem shooting • Capability to develop new testing methods for system validation and calibration tests and component quality assessment • Strong interest to work in a multidisciplinary team • Experience using Optical design software such as ZeMax is value added • Experience on opto-microfluidic sensing device operation or design has priority • Candidate with more years of experience in optical design and development will be assigned to team leader. Key responsibilities: • Determine (optical) component/product specifications and interface requirements • Translate product requirements into a functional optical sensing/detection system • Design and refine modular sub-system and build test platform for optical and fluidic filtration modules • Provide tolerance specifications for mechanical structures and holders based on tolerances of optical components and stability requirement of the optical module • Collaborate with mechanical designers to assure the optical module meet wavelength scale precision and repeatability • Design test procedures to evaluate critical optical components and the repeatability of the optical module • Conduct system level lab and field testing, data collection and write up technical report Senior nano-/micro structure design and fabrication engineer Essential requirements for position: • Should possess a PhD degree in one of the engineering fields (electrical and electronic/mechanical engineering, or material science, or physics) • At least 3 years of documented experience on nano/micro structure design, layout drawing and simulation • At least 3 years of hands-on experience in wafer nano/micro structure fabrication with various of cleanroom equipment for specific processes, such as, laser patterning, Dry and wet itching, wafer bounding, chip packaging and SEM inspection. • Capability to develop methodology for new micro-/nano-system validation and calibration tests • Hands on experience in high-resolution on-chip spectrometer as well as on-chip Fourier transform spectrometer for the development of ring resonators • Has priority • Capability to do nearfield/far-field optical field simulation and laser ~ nano-material interaction has priority • Hands-on experience on operation of opto-microfluidic structure based bio-sensing has priority • A strong interest to work in a multidisciplinary team • A fast self-learner for new technologies/skills Key job responsibilities • Develop new on-chip structures for bio-sensing and microbial detection • Undertake all design and fabrication processes from conceptual design, layout drawing, and cleanroom equipment operation • Design test procedures to evaluate and calibrate the nano/micro structures • Combine acoustophoretic device with microfluidic chip for bio-sensing • Improve the optical detection/imaging quality by optimise fabrication conditions and specifications of microfluidic chips • Translate application requirements into a functional microfluidic detection system • Conduct system-level lab and field validation testing, data collection and report writing • Provide sensitivity, specificity and reliability analysis for opto-microfluidic bio-sensing system Senior microfluidic Lab-on-chip device design engineer Essential skills and requirement • Has a Ph.D. in bioengineering, biochemestry, Electric & electronic/mechanical engineering, or material science • Has strong interest in joining an multi-disciplinary team focusing on microfluidic biosensors • Has documented experience in microfluidcis device design, fabrication and operation for development of on-chip microfluidic biosensors. • Experience in assay developments and microfluidic sensors will be considered with priority. • Highly motivated, independent team player iand selflearner • Willingness and ability to develop new skills • Good oral, written communication and organisational skills Key responsibilities • Develop new microfluidic chips for bio-medical and micro-particle manipulations • Combine acoustophoretic device with microfluidic chip for bio-sensing • Translate requirements into a functional microfluidic detection system Improve the optical • detection/imaging method by increase the specifications and reliability of the microfluidic chip • Design test procedures to evaluate and calibrate the microfluidic sensing system • Conduct whole-system level lab and field testing, data collection and report writing • Provide sensitivity, specificity and reliability analysis for opto-microfluidic bio-sensing systems Application Procedure: Interested candidates please send your CV/resume and university transcripts to: Prof Liu Ai Qun School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering Nanyang Technological University 50 Nanyang Avenue Block S2.1 Singapore 639798 E-mail Address for E-mailed Applications: fauzi.suri@ntu.edu.sg Electronic submission of application is highly encouraged.
