对ES&T Letters杂志的一些个人看法

再前几个月吐槽了论文被ES&T Letters拒稿重投（http://muchong.com/t-12162348-1），好好回答了审稿意见，前段时间收到了接收函，哈哈，所以我胡汉三又回来了，给大家聊聊对ES&T Letters的一点想法。 在论文快接收的时候，他们附上了杂志的格式要求，对如果想投这个杂志的可能会有一点帮助 Length: A Letter in Environmental Science & Technology Letters is limited to 3000 words (not including references or figure captions), with 200 words allocated per figure. To meet these length requirements, consider placing large display items and experimental details in the Supporting Information (SI) section. However, if too much information needs to be placed in the SI the study may be considered to be inappropriate for this Letters-type publication, and it therefore may be rejected for this reason. Format: Your revised manuscript must adhere to ACS format, especially references. Environmental Science & Technology Letters's guidelines are available at http://pubs.acs.org/page/estlcu/submission/authors.html. Table of Contents Graphic: Environmental Science & Technology Letters requires a Table of Contents Graphic. The graphic requested for the table of contents entry could be in the form of a structure, graph, drawing, SEM/TEM micrograph, or reaction scheme. The author must submit a graphic in the actual size to be used for the Table of Contents, to be 4 cm high and 8 cm wide. Type size of labels, formulas, or numbers within the graphic must be legible. Tables or spectra are not acceptable. Please label this page "For Table of Contents Use Only" and include the manuscript title and authors. Supporting Information: If the manuscript is accompanied by any supporting information for publication, a brief description of the supplementary material is required in the manuscript. The appropriate format is: Supporting Information. Brief statement in nonsentence format listing the contents of the material supplied as Supporting Information. 这些格式要求在网站上也能找得到，比较关键的可能是字数问题，另外论文在投稿时候他们不会提这些格式要求，字数稍微超过一点应该也是可以的。 我自己的论文是经过了三审，初审那会儿三周收到三份审稿意见，审稿人都对论文的创新进行了肯定，但是提出了需要补充实验。有些问题还不是很好回答，然后我们补了尽量能做到的实验，做不到的只好承认。返回去时候二审就看审稿人了，我的二审周期又是三周，基本都通过，只提了两个问题，没办法补充实验的审稿人也没有深究了，这里多提一句，ES&T Letters的邮件说如果二审结果还是major，这篇文章是会拒稿的，如果不是受条件限制，审稿人要求补的实验尽量补上，有些有难度审稿人可能只是建议，让你在以后的研究多考虑一下。三审时候可能没送给审稿人，因为投回去的第三天就接收了。总体来说 1.论文本身：ES&T Letters需要实验有一定新意，至少在文中得体现for the first time；论文写法得精炼，正文展示亮点，像实验细节，实验现象的部分支撑证据和更深解释都得放补充材料；多提炼下文章的环境意义，这点编辑和审稿人看的挺重的。 2.论文周期：总体比ES&T快，从论文投稿到最终发表可能两三个月就好 3.论文审稿：ES&T Letters没有大修，如果需要补做实验，编辑给的意见一般是拒稿重投，然后重新算日期，好像是因为他们尽量想让文章从收稿到发表低于一个月。 4.没有了，哈哈，祝大家科研顺利，论文发表多多。事情告一段落了，可以继续搬其他砖了。 薛定谔的小白鼠最终是活着的状态，真好~ |
