Postdoc in Experimental Macro/Micro/Nanomechanics The newly established Khalifa University of Science and Technology (http://www.kustar.ac.ae) in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE) is aiming to become a world-class, research-intensive institution, seamlessly integrating research and education to produce world leaders and critical thinkers in applied science and engineering. The university endeavors to be a leader among research-intensive universities of the 21st century, while catalyzing the growth of Abu Dhabi and the UAE’s rapidly developing knowledge economy. A 3-year postdoc position is available in the area of experimental macro/micro/nano-mechanics to work on the mechanics of two-dimensional heterogeneous solids. Strong experimental techniques such as using universal testing machine, dynamics mechanical analyzer, nano-indentation, AFM, and other relevant characterization tools are required. Knowledge of computational nanomechanics (molecular simulation/solid mechanics) will be an advantage. Successful candidate should have proven publication record in the aforementioned research field. Salary for postdoc is around 6k+ USD/month (tax FREE) depending on experience.
