前言：
与世界首富读同一本书！

众所周知，Bill Gates，一直有着非常良好的读书习惯，他平均每年大约会阅读50本书，也就是每周一本，如果精确到天的话，Bill Gates则会每晚腾出大约一个小时的时间来进行阅读。
阅读一直都是Bill Gates最为重要的学习方式，在每年阅读的50本书中，小说只占据了非常小的一部分，其中更多的书籍都是关于儿童教育、建筑、商业、以及人类疾病研究的发展方向等。
Bill Gates觉得自己虽然现在可以去世界上任何地方，去拜访所有他想要交流的科学家，或者去听任何他想去聆听的讲座，但阅读永远都是他学习的第一方式。他认为有时候一本好书或许能够帮助我们利用新的眼光去看待事物。
Bill Gates，也将自己年度最为推荐的五本书籍，在Gates Notes网站中分享出来。他同时也在网站中说道：“如果你想在假期里一个人，静静地待在温暖的房间内阅读一本好书的话，我想以下这五本书一定不会让你失望。”
这5本书籍是：《The Best We Could Do》，《The Sympathizer》，《Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City》，《Energy and Civilization: A History》，《Believe Me: A Memoir of Love, Death, and Jazz Chickens》。

Bill Gates书评《The Sympathizer》：“在此之前关于越战的书籍大多都以美国作者的视角为主，但这本书让我重新从一个越南人的全新角度对于这场战争有了新的认识，同时也深刻的体会到越南民众在战争中的痛苦与挣扎，全书叙事方式与情节十分引人注目。”
