今天下午瑞典大牛博后面试

在别的板块已经发过一次了： 今天下午将迎来人生中最重要的一次面试。本人申请了瑞典查尔姆斯理工大学的一个行业内顶尖大牛的博后，约好今天下午4点面试。之前大牛的邮件如下： What I would like to talk to you about is: 1. Your educational background 2. Your research (topics, experiments/theory) 3. Your visions and ambitions 4. Your thoughts about being in a leading role (guiding PhD students, moving research forward) 5. The project where the postdoc will work is rather well defined: multi-wavelength VCSELs arrays and integration on SiN-on-Si circuits for multiplexing and fiber coupling to build high-capacity CWDM sources. We have already recruited a postdoc to work on the SiN-on-Si circuits. The new postdoc will be responsible for the multi-wavelength VCSEL arrays and work together with/guide a PhD student. The new postdoc will also work closely with the other postdoc on the integration of the CWDM VCSEL arrays on the SiN-on-Si circuits. Even though there is much freedom in finding and developing techniques for accurate wavelength setting and control of individual VCSELs in an array, the tasks are rather well defined and there is limited opportunity to work on “anything”. So I am interested in your thoughts about working in a project with specific plans, milestones, and deliverables. After we have talked next week we may also set up another Skype meeting where you will give a short (20 min) presentation of your research to the other members of the group here at Chalmers. 虽然自己大方向是完全对口，但是这个博后项目中的器件类型是自己没实际制备过的，应用的领域也没有深入了解过，所以没法对他的项目谈多么具体的vision，ambition以及其他想法。自己的想法就是给我项目我直接干就是了！保证给你做出来！ 感觉自己没准备好，希望有过海外博后面试经历的前辈同学来交流交流，等面试结果出来了更新。 |
