Research Fellow positions at CMCM, IBS, Korea

The theory research group led by Prof. Feng Ding (see http://www.researcherid.com/rid/D-5938-2011 for more information) from IBS-CMCM, located in Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST) of Korea (http://cmcm.ibs.re.kr/wave/?MM=02&SM=03), now has 1 research fellow opening on each of the following study topics, respectively: i. Development of classical potential energy surfaces for carbon-metal systems for investigations of the growth mechanisms of carbon materials (Please refer to Chem. Sci., 2015, 6, 4704-4711). ii. Development of Monte Carlo algorithms for simulations of 2D materials’ growth and properties (Please refer to Phys. Chem. Chem. Phys., 2016,18, 2932-2939; ACS Nano, 2016, 10, 4330–4344; J. Am. Chem. Soc., 2012, 134, 6045–6051, etc.). iii. Development of Phase Field theory for simulations of 2D materials’ growth (Please refer to Nature Nanotechnology, 11, 2016, 930–935; Nano Lett., 13, 2013, 5692–5697, etc.). The research fellow position is open to whom with a PhD degree in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, etc. Applicants should have a strong research background. Coding skills are required, such as c/c++, fortran, python, etc. Applicants with experience in parallel coding and GPU acceleration are preferred. The annual salary is highly competitive. The contract duration will be 1-5 years, depending on the academic performance of the candidate.
