Top Chemical Company Opportunity——Associate Scientist,Molecular Modelling

Our client is one of the top global chemical companies. It is one of the largest foreign investors in the Chinese chemical industry, and maintains its Asia Pacific Innovation Campus in Shanghai as a research and development hub for the Asia Pacific region. Objectives: • Digitalization in Research and Development unit is an integral component of the largest R&D community in the chemical industry. Increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of R&D by digital tools such as data analysis and modeling, is our mission. • Understanding chemical reactivity and materials properties on a molecular scale is at the heart of chemistry. Within our Molecular Simulation Team, a main focus is the translation of real-world formulation problems into simulations addressing the problem. Main Tasks: • Responsible for planning, implementation and interpretation of dissipative particle dynamics (DPD), coarse grained (CG) and molecular dynamics (MD) simulations as well as parameterization and validation of complex mixtures. • Develop models to establish structure-property relationships. • Plan and conduct projects - also with external research collaborations -and take over responsibility for the project management within an international team. • Establish and maintain collaborations with academic research groups, evaluate new approaches and explore new application areas. Requirements: • Successfully completed your studies with a PhD in chemistry or physical chemistry and possess a background in the field of molecular simulations or a similar qualification. • Have application-based experience with molecular dynamics simulations and statistical mechanics as well as modeling approaches for surfactants, polymer solutions, encapsulation and polyelectrolytes. • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English. • Creative and motivated team player, who is able to convince us with strong communication skills.
