How to deal with snobbish relatives?

When I worked in Shenzhen and earned a lot, she spoke highly of me and felt proud in front of her aquaintances. After I left Shenzhen and worked in my hometown, she talked with me with dissatisfied manner and she even doubted whether I can find a job by myself. Sometimes she even persuaded me to find some short-cut to get a good job. I want to get the job by myself instead of begging others, OK? Every time she talks with me indicating that she knows everything and I'm required to listen to hers. If I don't, I will be scolded as arrogant as well as showing no respect to the elders. She often forces me to find a boyfriend as soon as possibe because boys like young ladies while I'm too old in such a small city. She pretends to be very warm-hearted and introduces an ugly overweight man to me. I reject it. She thinks I'm a very particular girl and she thinks the man with a house and a car is a perfect match for me. After I rejecting her suggestion, she does't care about me any more. In her eyes, a man with a house and a car is good for me even though he is short and weighs 85 kilograms. When I call her aunt, I feel disappointed and weird. How can I face such a woman who despises my values and looks down upon me. I have realized that our time and feelings are worthy to be devoted to those who really care about our inner voice and self-respect. Those snobbish relatives are not supposed to be respected. Though you are old, your age is not a good reason to get my respect. |

I have seen the similar scenarios from tome to time. Instantly i felt sorry for the misery that happened to anyone who were suffering from it, however as o said it happens all the time for the current generations this must be a social and cultural onduced conflicts or whst we mostly called "misunderstandings". personally, i suggest you can try to swap position with them, the empathy will help you ease your annoyance in some way. 发自小木虫Android客户端 |
