《Cell》杂志新添3位华人编委 !!!

摘要: 《cell》杂志一向牛气,以前除了Robert Tijan(加州大学伯克利分校教授,HHMI研究 员,)外,几乎没有华人编委,现在一下子竲加到了4位,真是好消息呀! 1. 钱泽南(Robert Tijan)华人生物学科超级牛人,加州大学伯克利分校教授,HHMI 研究员, HHMI2008年起新科所长!) The Trustees of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute today announce the election of Robert Tjian (钱泽南) of the University of California, Berkeley, as the Institute's new president. A distinguished biochemist and long-time HHMI investigator, he will assume his new role on April 1, 2009. Tjian will succeed Thomas R. Cech, who has served as HHMI's president since January 2000. Cech had announced his decision to step down from the presidency earlier this year in order to return to full-time research and teaching at the University of Colorado at Boulder. 2. 林温德(Wendell Lim) 超级牛人(加州大学旧金山分校/伯克利分校納米医学中心 主任,HHMI研究员,本科哈佛,Ph.D.MIT,UCSF教授。 a Professor of Cellular and Molecular Pharmacology at the University of California, San Francisco. He received his A.B. in chemistry from Harvard University and his Ph.D. in biochemistry and biophysics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is Director of the UCSF/UCB NIH Nanomedicine Development Center and Deputy Director of the National Science Foundation Synthetic Biology Engineering Research Center. 3. 庄晓薇,华人留美超级牛人,哈佛化学,物理系双科正教授(35岁),HHMI研究员 Dr.Xiaowei Zhuang develops and applies optical imaging techniques to monitor the behavior of individual biological molecules and complexes in vitro and in live cells. Her current research focuses on (1) developing super- resolution optical microscopy that allows cell and tissue imaging with molecular-scale resolution and applying this technology to cell biology and neurobiology; (2) studying how biomolecules function, especially how proteins and nucleic acids interact, through single-molecule approaches; (3) developing live-cell imaging techniques and using them to investigate virus -cell interactions. 4. 许田,华人生物学大牛,耶鲁遗传系副主任,HHMI研究员 Dr. Xu is also Professor and Vice Chairman of Genetics at Yale School of Medicine, Director of the Mouse Functional Genome Project, and Adjunct Professor and Director of the Fudan-Yale Biomedical Research Center at Fudan University. |
