RA position details: One (1) fully funded 2-year(MS)/4-year(PhD) Research Assistant (RA) position is now open for graduate students interested in Artificial Intelligence (Natural Language Processing and Knowledge Representation) in Dr. Forrest Sheng Bao‘s lab in the Dept. of Computer Science, Iowa State University. The RA will work with collaborators from the industry, including Alibaba, Reddit, Facebook, and Google. Preferred mindset and qualification: ● Holding a bachelor/master\'s degree (or near completion) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or a related area. ● Passionate or addicted to exploring or inventing, e.g., modifying source code routinely. ● Autodidactical or self-teaching, e.g., having learned more from Google than the classroom. ● Entrepreneurial, adventurous and maverick, e.g., always thinking different (or differently). ● Fluent in the English language. ● Proficient in the GNU/Linux operating system and the Python programming language. About: As the first land-grant university, ISU is a member of American Association of Universities (AAU), an elite group of top 60 American universities and top 2 Canadian universities. It ranks No. 111 nationally and No. 177 globally (US News & World Report, 2017).
