According to the coincidence-site lattice(CSL) misorientation angle between adjacent grains, the misorientation
angle with£¨0<q<15£© and £¨q ´óÓÚ15£© are referred as low angle grain boundaries (LAGBs or S1 boundaries) and high angle
grain boundaries (HAGBs), respectively. For HAGBs, the grain boundaries with a low CSL value (1<S 29) are named as ¡®¡®special¡¯¡¯
grain boundaries [45], whilst others known as random HAGBs. It is reported that the low-CSL boundaries at adjacent grains are the
relatively coherent interfaces, which contain few crystalline defects.Besides, due to their potentials for structural order in the
boundary plane, a high concentration of annealing twins(¦²3n; n £º1; 2; 3) can improve the hot corrosion resistance
and fatigue resistance of nickel-based superalloys . Especially,coherent annealing twin boundaries with ¦²3 are the attractive features in polycrystalline alloys, due to their lowest grain boundary energies among low-CSL boundaries. Furthermore,¦²3 boundaries have an indirect promoting role on the formations of new ¦²3, ¦²9, or ¦²27 boundaries by means of ¦²3 regeneration mechanism. In recent years, considerable researches have
been carried out on the formation of annealing twins of various superalloys.
