【CSC博士招生】埃因霍温理工大学(TU/e) :窄线宽高功率可调激光器

Advanced integrated tunable laser with narrow linewidth and high power There is an increasing demand for narrow linewidth and wavelength tunable lasers for e.g. applications in telecommunication, metrology applications such as high resolution Fibre Bragg Grating sensor systems, laser imaging systems and microwave photonics. In these applications often multiple lasers are required and the lasers need to be combined with other optical circuitry. For this reason there is an interest in realizing such lasers on a single photonic integrated circuit, a single chip, which not only allows for the efficient fabrication of larger number of devices and more robust operation, but also opens up alternative technical solutions such as the close integration of electronics. This realization of stable tunable lasers using photonic integration brings specific technological challenges. The boundary conditions on the laser design can be very different from devices made from individual components. In this project we want to investigate the realization of tunable and narrow linewidth single mode lasers in photonic integration platforms (InP and SiN). The major research aspects include: -Cavity design to alleviate degradation induced by nonlinearity, dispersion and loss based on ring filters and low loss waveguide couplers inside laser cavity; -High output power enabled by mode field optimization and novel active layer; -Topological protection induced single mode lasing with narrow linewidth -Broadband directly-modulated laser with narrow linewidth 如有意向请将简历发至黄同学(j.huang@tue.nl或者1611332937@qq.com)。欢迎各位同学来信咨询,请通过邮件联系。 埃因霍温理工大学IPI研究院情况介绍 在光通信及光电子领域,IPI(前身为COBRA研究院)是世界顶级的研究机构之一。该团队的科学研究跨学科地集中在三个方面:光通信中的材料、器件和系统。许多源于IPI的研究成果获得国际研究界认可并受到广泛应用,如首次由Meint Smit教授提出的光波分复用系统应用的阵列波导光栅(AWG)、光子集成电路中最常用的MMI耦合器、首个最小金属(等离子)激光器、光控毫米波波束引导楼内/室内光纤无线系统,大容量模式服用光传输系统、光学分组交换系统、光子存储器芯片、具有动态光学路由功能的光纤接入网络及核心芯片、高速光子数分辨探测器、原子显微镜、等离子体辅助原子层沉积(ALD)工艺等。这些众多的开创性研究成果被发表在包括《自然》在内的著名刊物上。 |
