A PhD position is available in the School of Engineering and Computing Sciences at TAMU-CC. Potential research themes include hydrology, geospatial analysis, water resources management, and environmental assessment and remediation. The accepted student will determine his/her specific research topics in consultation with the supervisor. Applicants should preferably hold an MS degree in Geosciences, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Computer Science, Environmental Science, or a related field. Potential applicants with a BS degree in these fields should have at least one year of research experience. Desired (not required) qualifications include: remote sensing and GIS analysis, hydrological and water quality modeling, ecological restoration, environmental systems analysis, machine learning, unmanned systems, and programming skills. Interested applicants should email Dr. Hua Zhang (hua.zhang@tamucc.edu) with a statement of research experience and interest, a CV, unofficial transcripts, and complete GRE scores. International applicants should provide qualified TOEFL or IELTS scores. Screening of applications will begin immediately and remain open until filled. To be assured of a full review, the complete application package must be submitted by November 15 (spring semester) or July 15 (fall semester).
