Manuscripts in English should be submitted in 2 copies conforming to the following requirements. A 30 word abstract and 2−4 keywords should be provided. The manuscript should be accompanied by an identical Microsoft Word 6.0 document on a 3.5 inch disk. The main text of the document file should be in 14 pt Times New Roman font with 16 pt spacing. Do not include graphics files into the document; they should be submitted as separate files.

General. Communications should be written in a concise form, in good English. All nomenclature should conform to the recommendations of IUPAC. SI units should be used. Manuscripts should not exceed 8 pages of the size specified below, including all figures, tables and references. Conformity to the format will speed processing and publication.

Title should be in capital letters. Provide full first names for all authors.

Headings. Papers should be organized under the main headings:
INTRODUCTION, EXPERIMENTAL, RESULTS AND DISCUSSION, REFERENCES.

Typing of the hard copies should be done 1.5 spaced on A4 paper within a typing area of 16x22 cm. To facilitate editorial work, please avoid small print and single spacing. Figures. Original drawings and graphs should be in black ink on tracing paper and clearly legible after 20% reduction in size. Do not send low density (faded, pale or gray) figures. Good quality computer graphs produced on a laser printer (but not matrix dot printers) are acceptable. Avoid thick and thin lines in the same graph. For details of format, see issues of this Journal starting with Vol. 57. Titles on coordinate axes should begin with a capital letter and run parallel to the given axis. Units should be enclosed in parentheses, for example Activation energy (kJ/mol).

Decimal points rather than commas should be used in the scale numbers. Multiplying factors of quantities should be given as e.g. (ax10−3. Legends to figures should be listed on a separate sheet.

Tables. The number and title should be above the table (cf. earlier issues). There should be horizontal lines above and below the column headings and after the last row. Individual rows and columns should not be separated by lines. Units in column headings should be enclosed in parentheses.

Mathematical equations should be typed so as to allow direct reproduction. No hand−written symbols are acceptable.

References should be numbered consecutively and listed at the end of the manuscript. Reference numbers within the text should be enclosed in square brackets [3, 4−6]. The abbreviations of journals should be those used by Chemical Abstracts. The following are illustrations of typical references:
1. J.P. Jones, D.G. Beckman: J. Am. Chem. Soc., 67, 143 (1989).
2. D.C. Williams, J.F. Brown: Textbook of Inorganic Chemistry, Vol.2, p. 123. Science Publishers, New York,
London 1993.
Review articles are considered for publication after prior consultation with the Editorial Office in Budapest.

Reprints. Authors receive 25 reprints free of charge. Additional reprints can be ordered at prices listed on the reprint order form to be sent to the authors after acceptance of the paper.

Claims for issues not received should be made within three months of publication of the issues. If not, they cannot be honoured free of charge.  Print
