[交流] 弗吉尼亚理工大学招收食品科学，化学工程以及生物工程方向全奖博士生

The Department of Food Science and Technology at Virginia Tech is seeking one PhD graduate research assistant. The staring time for the student can be August 2018.
The research focus will be on Food and Bioprocessing Engineering.  Successful candidates will:
•       Conduct fermentation experiments to convert biomass to biofuels;
•       Conduct experiments to separate phenolic compounds, proteins, fibers from food processing byproducts;
•       Conduct simulation and economic analysis of food and bioprocesses based on experimental data and data from different sources.

Qualification
Required
•       MS degree in Food Science,  Chemical Engineering, Biological Engineering, Environmental Engineering or closely related fields;
•       Self-motivated to work independently and collaboratively;
•       Good oral and written communication skills;
•       Desire to publish high quality journal articles.

Preferred but not required
•       Research experiences in fermentation, bioseparation of proteins and fibers, or other related processing engineering;
•       Research experiences in protein chemistry
•       Demonstrated a good publication record;

博士研究生助理职位（全额奖学金）

阐述：
根据US News & World Report弗吉尼亚理工大学在美国所有公立大学里面排名前25，而其中的食品科学与技术系在美国所有食品学科里处于前列。

目前，该系黄海波研究课题组计划在2017年秋季招收一名博士研究助理，提供全额奖学金（免学费，生活费1800美元一个月）。研究方向为食品与生物加工工程。主要的研究工作是：1）生物发酵工程（比如乙醇，丁醇发酵）；2）植物活性物质，蛋白或是纤维的提取和改性；3）加工过程的模拟和优化。

要求：
1）硕士学位（2018年8月份之前拥有硕士学位）。专业最好是食品科学，化学工程,  生物工程，环境工程，农业工程，或是其他相关领域；
2）具有独立思考和工作的能力；
3）具有较好的英语沟通和写作能力；
4）具有食品或是生物加工背景，化工过程控制、或是食品蛋白化学科研经验的优先考虑，但不是必须的
