I am pleased to say that the editorial advisory board has provisionally accepted your paper for publication , subject to it being revised to take account of the referees' comments below. Reviewer #1: The presented topic of polycarboxylate ether based superplasticiser for bidners with a high GGBS content is of great interest, however, a revision of the manuscript needs to be carried out before it can be accepted for publication. The paper presents the performance of a single PCE with a novel architecture and compares it to that of a single commonly used PCE. This is insufficient as a wide range of commercially available PCEs exist these days - designed to cater for a wide range of water reducing and workability retention performance. The new polymer should therefore be benchmarked to a range of existing PCE based polymers. Furthermore, more than a single source of the GGBFS needs to be considered. This is because GGBFS vary widely in both the chemical composition as well as the surface charge, both of which strongly influence the performance of surface active admixtures. An example of negative, positive and close to neutral surface charges should be presented in the context of the performance of the novel PCE in question. As it stands, the manuscript merely focuses the interaction of the PC with the polymers, the mechanisms of action of the GGBFS within the system are addressed insufficiently. Also, from practical point of view, the two presented polymers perform relatively very similarly to each other from rheological point of view.
