PhD Student Position in FEA Assisted Mechanical Design of Bioinspired Structure at the City University of Hong Kong Contact information: Dr. Xinrui Niu Xinrui.niu@cityu.edu.hk Research website: https://www.niusresearchgroup.org A PhD student position is available in Spring or Fall 2018 in the Department of Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering at the City University of Hong Kong with research direction of finite element analysis (FEA) assisted mechanical design of bioinspired structure. Requirements: • B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Biomedical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Applied Physics, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry and other related engineering and scientific fields. • An overall GPA not less than 80/100 for the top 985 universities, 82.5/100 for 985 universities, 85/100 for 211 universities. (²»°üÀ¨ÕþÖκÍÌåÓýÀà¿Î³Ì )• Fulfill the language requirement: a minimum TOEFL score of 550 (paper-based) or 213 (computer-based) or 79 (internet-based) is required; or an overall band score of 6.5 in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), or College English Test Band 6 score no less than 490. Additional information: • Monthly Stipend: 16200 HKD; • The candidate is expected to work on research topics such as: bio-mimetic design, finite element analysis, experimental mechanics, nanocomposites, 3D-printing; • Priority will be given to the students with hands-on experience in finite element analysis (FEA) with Abaqus and experimental mechanics. • The City University of Hong Kong is rising rapidly in the recent decade, especially in the engineering regime.
