FIU is a fast-growing R1 public research university in Miami. Dr. He’s lab is developing multifunctional single molecule and single cell biophysical tools and methods to study cell biology. We are seeking a motivated and creative applicant to join a new project focusing on understanding the role of mechanical and electrical cues in cardiac tissue engineering using cutting-edge techniques. A Ph.D. in (bio)physics, (bio)chemistry, cell biology or related science is required. The ideal candidate should have strong laboratory and analytical skills, with a background in one or more of the following fields: scanning probe microscope, patch clamp techniques, advanced fluorescence microscopy techniques, SERS, novel single molecule and single cell biophysics techniques, optogenetics, bioelectricity, stem cell and cardiac muscle cells/tissue. Successful applicants will be a member of a high-quality research team with a collaborative research environment in a NSF sponsored ERC center. FIU also provides strong support and career training and support for postdoctoral researchers.
