Open positions School of EEE, Nanyang Technological University has a position for 1. one (Senior) software developer for development of optical image identification software and Graphic User Interface (GUI) 2. one senior research associate as senior FPGA developer 3. Two positions: (a) Mechanical design engineer (b) Senior mechanical design engineer Job responsibilities position 1 (SW developer) The successful candidate will write programs forembedded Linux system and applications development. He/she will work closely with hardware engineers to build the embedded software for an optical instrumentation system. He/she will develop the Graphic User Interface (GUI) for the instrumentation system. Required hands on experience and skills for position 1: • Embedded Linux programming with C and C++ language; • Development of Graphic User Interface for systems; • Experience in using Oscilloscopes and test equipment for Embedded Systems; • Familiar with application development with Qt; • Familiar with imaging capturing system and device drivers under Linux is a plus; • Experience in SW development on ARM architecture is a plus; • Self-starter, analytical, tenacious problem solver; • Good in English writing and communication skills. Requirements for position 1: The candidate should have a bachelor or master degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering or other relevant field with about 2-3 years of C/C++ code and GUI development experience. Candidate with knowledge and experience on electronic hardware and embedded system would have priority for the position. Job responsibilities for position 2 (senior FPGA developer) The successful candidate will work for the implementation of Optical Imaging System and Machine Learning Accelerator on FPGA platforms. He will comes with a completed design and demonstrated FPGA solution to replace to current SW and partially the electronic control hardware Required hands on experience and skills for position 2 (senior FPGA developer): • Altera, Xilinx, or Actel FPGAs development environment. • Verilog or VHDL • Embedded system design. • High level programming languages such as C and C++. • CMOS sensors and CSI-2 interface. Requirements for position 2 (senior FPGA developer) The candidate should have a bachelor or master degree in electrical engineering, applied physics or other relevant field with about 5 years of FPGA development experience. Experience with Deep Learning algorithm or hardware development would have priority for the position. Job responsibilities for position 3 ( (Senior) mechanical design engineer) The successful candidate will develop sensing/detection instrument including filtration modules and photo/optoelectronic modules and microfluidic chips for water and environmental monitoring Job scopes include for position 3 ( (Senior) mechanical design engineer): • develop component/product specifications and interface requirements; • perform independent precision mechanical design or refinement of existing designs to build up prototypes; • design test procedures to assess the strength, integrity of the structures and system level performance; • use Solidworks fluently, have experience with 3D designing and CAD; • Essential simulation for mechanical components; • Assisting in conducting lab, pilot and field testing of the prototype and data collection. Essential requirements for position 3 ( (Senior) mechanical design engineer): Applicants should have a Bachelor or Master degree in Mechanical Engineering, a strong interest to work with a team of other specialties, and most importantly, have experience on precision or optics–related mechanical design, instrumentation and system integration. Applicants with experience in industrial product design and assembly, as well as basic knowledge on liquid filtration and mechanics designs for optics related systems will be considered with priority. Candidates with more than 5 years design experience might be assigned to a higher position with more duties. |
