Dr. Qiang Guan (https://sites.google.com/site/qiangguan2014/) is looking PhD students in the area of FPGA, Quantum Computing, Big Data Visual Analytics, High Performance Computing and Cloud Computing. Dr. Qiang Guan was a computer scientist in Data Science at Scale research center (https://datascience.dsscale.org/people/) before joining Kent State University specialized in High Performance Computing, Cloud Computing, Visual analytics and Quantum Computing. He has been awarded as PI and Co-PI in several DoE projects. Dr. Guan has published 40+ papers in top HPC and Cloud conference and journal, including, HPDC, PPoPP and IPDPS. Dr. Guan has a wide collaboration with DoE national laboratories (LANL, ANL, ORNL, LLNL and SNL) and Industrial companies (Intel, Google, IBM, NVIDIA and AMD).
The opening positions will start in January 2018 or August 2018. The recruiting will continue until the positions are filled. Quantified Candidates are expected to have strong programming experience in C/C++, Java or python under Linux environment, strong English writing and communication skills, and strong motivation and interest in research. Industry experience is a plus. Students with CS, Math, EE and Physics background are welcome apply.
