Job Description Advanced Photonics Research (APR) Lab at School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering (EEE) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore is seeking one candidate for postdoctoral research fellow position in the field of ultrafast pump-probe spectroscopy. The main theme of our research focuses on developing a new class of semiconductor-based light sources for next-generation optical and quantum computing. Our lab's most recent research on strained germanium nanowire laser is currently in press at Nature Communications and our team is now seeking the candidate who can push the work to the next level (please refer our website: http://ntuaprl.creatorlink.net/RESEARCH). 2. Topics The successful candidates are expected to perform one or more of the following tasks: - Conduct ultrafast pump-probe spectroscopy using a commercially available femtosecond spectrometer (http://ultrafastsystems.com/spectrometer-products/) - Characterize and analyze transient absorption and gain of various semiconductor materials (e.g. Ge, MoS2) 3. Requirement The successful candidate should possess: - PhD degree in electrical engineering, applied physics or related areas - Strong research background on optical characterization 4. Salary and terms of employment Successful candidates can expect competitive salary and benefits. Monthly salary will be determined based on educational qualifications and research experience.
