[交流] 审稿意见,好仔细啊,感觉都是语言问题,这些标记什么意思? 已有12人参与

第一篇SCI,知道自己英文水平有限,语法问题可能会比较多,其实是参考已发表论文写的,同样的东西同样的写法,确被打了好多标记。两个审稿人意见,其中一个审稿人直接在手稿上写的,写的很仔细,但是由于第一次看到这种审稿意见,不大明白,希望大家指点一下,1、三角形表示要加空格吗?2、空格标记是什么意思?3、高亮是表示表述不合适?4、画横线表示要删除重新组织语言?。

This paper seeks to use eddy current testing as a non-destructive testing technique for quantitatively evaluating the degradation in cast duplex stainless steels as a result of relatively low temperature thermal aging. Therefore the authors compared the eddy current testing as a function of aging time at 380C up to 9000 hours with room temperature Charpy impact testing and Vicker’s microhardness testing at the same times and temperature. They found that eddy current testing correlates well with both room temperature Charpy impact energy and Vicker’s microhardness – the latter in an inverse manner. This paper deserves eventual acceptance for publication, but there are a few suggested changes that should be implemented both to improve the readability and the conclusions of the paper.

1. In the introduction, more thoroughly discuss eddy current testing: the physics behind it; how it is implemented in service; etc. Many readers may not be familiar with this technique.

2. There are several grammar and proofreading errors that need to be corrected throughout the paper. Please go through and carefully correct these; get a second set of eyes to help with these mistakes. Often, it is the comma vs. semicolon usage, along with usage of run-on sentences (I understand English is a second language).

3. If possible, in the materials section, please tell how the material was cast (starting temperature, cooling rate, size of pipe that samples were cut from, etc.).

4. What is the volume fraction of ferrite as a function of aging time? There is evidence that ferrite content may change during aging even at these relatively low aging temperature and times. This may highlight why there is a difference in the rate of change in ferrite hardness and Charpy impact energy.


5. Can eddy current testing distinguish between spinodally decomposed regions and G-phase precipitates? The literature has shown that there is a multi-stage process in which G-phase precipitates on the alpha/ alpha-prime interface. This could also highlight the reason for the change in slope in both microhardness and impact energy from 0-~2000 hours and ~2000-9000 hours.
You actually mention this but never discuss why it is the case:
“Fig.8 shows the changes of amplitude and ferrite Vickers microhardness with aging time. The amplitude varies inversely to the behavior of ferrite microhardness. The change can be divided into two stages, the first stage range from 0 to 2000h aging time and second stage range from 2000h to 9000h. Microhardness increases rapidly in the first stage and then the rate of increase slows down in the second stage. However, the amplitude decreases rapidly at the beginning and then decreases gradually.”

6. Expansion of the discussion and conclusions in general would also be helpful. Try going into greater detail.

  - This work is an attempt to correlate the mechanical property changes of thermally aged ferrite-austenite duplex SSs with eddy current measurements.  A centrifugally cast SSs was thermally aged and tested for Charpy impact energy, microhardness, and eddy current.  There appears to be good correlations between eddy current and Charpy impact energy, and eddy current and microhardness.  The technical content of the paper is of interest for the JNM readers.  However, the clarity of the paper needs to be improved.  There are some grammar mistakes and technically inaccuracies in the current manuscript. Also, it is highly desirable that the correlations obtained in this paper can be validated with additional data from literature or from the authors’ lab.  I'd recommend some changes before publication.  Specific comments and suggestions are provided in the attached PDF.

不能用其它公司的pdf软件打开,用adobe公司的软件打开就能看到评语了!其它问题都清楚了,但是 那种空格状的标记还是不知道什么意思,望大神指点一下。
