Postdoctoral Research Fellow Position in Theoretical Modeling on Semiconductor Optoelectronics (2017/9/23)

(1) Job Description
Advanced Photonics Research (APR) Lab at School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering (EEE) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore is seeking a candidate for a postdoctoral research fellow position in the field of theoretical modeling on semiconductor optoelectronics. The main theme of our research focuses on the theoretical and experimental development of a new class of semiconductor optoelectronic devices for next-generation optical and quantum computing.

(2) Tasks
The successful candidate is expected to perform one or more of the following tasks:
- Bandstructure modeling (e.g. EPM, TB, k.p, etc.) via MATLAB
- Numerical modeling on device performances (e.g. optical gain) of emerging nanomaterials (e.g. TMDCs)
- (Optional) Device design and simulations using commercial software (e.g. LUMERICAL)
- (Optional) Nanofabrication of 3D (e.g. germanium) and/or 2D (e.g. TMDC) semiconductor devices
- (Optional) Optical characterizations and analyses of nanoscale semiconductor light sources

(3)Requirement
The successful candidate should possess:
- PhD degree in electrical engineering, applied physics or related areas
- Strong research background in theoretical modeling

(4)Salary and terms of employment:
Successful candidates can expect competitive salary and benefits. Monthly salary will be determined based on educational qualifications and research experience. A settling-in allowance will also be provided. The period of employment is 2 years.
