The Manalis laboratory develops quantitative and real-time techniques for biomolecular detection and single cell analysis. We use conventional silicon processing techniques to fabricate fluidic devices, and exploit the unique physical properties associated with micro- and nanoscale dimensions for developing precision measurement methods.

这位Langer教授可谓是传奇人物,当年从MIT毕业的时候,找工作四处碰壁,没有公司要,后来他导师说,看你这么郁闷,先留下来做个助研吧。就这么一个赏赐性的机会,造就了一位微观化学领域的奇才。他搞的东西,微纳兼有,器件制备和医学应用同时开展,课题组较大,方向也多。SCI文章随便算算也有500+了。如果用一句简练的话来形容他的研究小组的话,那只能是“nature science 发到手软”!

[RESEARCH INTERESTS/CURRENT PROJECTS]:
• Investigating the mechanism of release from polymeric delivery systems with concomitant microstructural analysis and mathematical modeling.
• Studying applications of these systems including the development of effective long-term delivery systems for insulin, anti-cancer drugs, growth factors, gene therapy agents and vaccines.
• Developing controlled release systems that can be magnetically, ultrasonically, or enzymatically triggered to increase release rates.
