The reviewer(s) and editor have evaluated your manuscript "...................." (Professor .................). As you will see from the comments below and on https://ees.elsevier.com/mlblue/, moderate revision has been requested. Given that the requested revisions are moderate the new version is required within one month (30 days).
To submit a revision, go to https://ees.elsevier.com/mlblue/ and log in as an Author. You will find your submission record under Submission(s) Needing Revision. Please note that resubmissions not received within 30 days may be withdrawn, unless you contact me to extend the deadline.
With your resubmission, explain how and where each point of the reviewer's comments has been incorporated. For this, use submission item "Revision
Notes" when uploading your revision. Also, indicate the changes in an annotated version of the revised manuscript (submission item "Revision, changes marked" . Should you disagree with any part of the reviews, please explain why. To facilitate further review, add line numbers to the text of your manuscript.
Please present any figures, tables etc. as separate files. See the Artwork Guidelines on the home page right menu for further file naming conventions, referencing and format issues. Please upload source files (e.g. Word or LaTeX) of the text and figures. PDF files of the text cannot be handled by the typesetters.
Please strictly follow the formatting requirements as presented in the Guide for Authors at http://www.elsevier.com/locate/mlblue. As regards the figures: The cost for colour printing should be met by the author. In order to reduce the cost you may choose to redraw those figures where colour can be substituted by using different graphical shapes.
I hope that you will find these comments to be of use to you and am looking forward to receiving your revision.
Thank you for submitting your work to this journal.
PLEASE NOTE: Materials Letters would like to enrich online articles by displaying interactive figures that help the reader to visualize and explore your research results. For this purpose, we would like to invite you to upload figures in the MATLAB .FIG file format as supplementary material to our online submission system. Elsevier will generate interactive figures from these files and include them with the online article on SciVerseScienceDirect. If you wish, you can submit .FIG files along with your revised submission.
Please note that this journal offers a new, free service called AudioSlides: brief, webcast-style presentations that are shown next to published articles on ScienceDirect (see also http://www.elsevier.com/audioslides). If your paper is accepted for publication, you will automatically receive an invitation to create an AudioSlides presentation.
Materials Letters features the Interactive Plot Viewer, see: http://www.elsevier.com/interactiveplots. Interactive Plots provide easy access to the data behind plots. To include one with your article, please prepare a .csv file with your plot data and test it online at http://authortools.elsevier.com/interactiveplots/verification before submission as supplementary material.
Data in Brief (optional)
We invite you to convert your supplementary data (or a part of it) into a Data in Brief article. Data in Brief articles are descriptions of the data and associated metadata which are normally buried in supplementary material. They are actively reviewed, curated, formatted, indexed, given a DOI and freely available to all upon publication. Data in Brief should be uploaded with your revised manuscript directly to Materials Letters. If your Materials Letters research article is accepted, your Data in Brief article will automatically be transferred over to our new, fully Open Access journal, Data in Brief, where it will be editorially reviewed and published as a separate data article upon acceptance. The Open Access fee for Data in Brief is $500.
Please just fill in the template found here: https://www.elsevier.com/__data/ ... rief_template.docx. Then, place all Data in Brief files (whichever supplementary files you would like to include as well as your completed Data in Brief template) into a .zip file and upload this as a Data in Brief item alongside your Materials Letters revised manuscript. Note that only this Data in Brief item will be transferred over to Data in Brief, so ensure all of your relevant Data in Brief documents are zipped into a single file. Also, make sure you change references to supplementary material in your Materials Letters manuscript to reference the Data in Brief article where appropriate.
Questions? Please send your inquiries to dib@elsevier.com. Example Data in Brief can be found here: http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/journal/23523409

COMMENTS FROM EDITORS AND REVIEWERS
Reviewer #1: This work presented an effective method to detect triethylamine using NiO hollow microsphere with Fe doping. It is novel and the results demonstrate in a nice way. The figures are pretty and data is convincing. Besides, the Graphical Abstract is representative for this paper. Anyway, there are still some mistakes need to be corrected, which are list below:
1. In the Experimental Section, the author mentioned that solution B was the mixture of ethanol and tetrabutyltitanate(TEOS). It is a very fatal mistake here. TEOS is the abbreviation of Tetraethylorthosilicate or Tetraethoxysilane (another name), and it is a very common and popular material to synthesize SiO2. However I can not believe that SiO2 can be obtained by the hydrolysis of tetrabutyltitanate without any source of Si.
2. In the discussion of Fig.2, the author said that "Fig 2(c) indicates that the surface morphology of sample substantially unaltered after doping". In fact, Fig.2 (d) is actually the SEM image of Fe-doped NiO.
3. In Fig.4, the definition of Y-axis is incomplete in Fig.4 (b) comparing with other ones.
Please give sufficient explanation to these questions or correct them in your revised manuscript.\
这里本人有一个问题:编辑和审稿人意见都是在COMMENTS FROM EDITORS AND REVIEWERS之后的那一段话里面吗,这里面好像没有编辑的意见?
