Generally aim for figures that are designed for reduction to one-column width (7.5 cm) in the Journal. Avoid small open symbols, which tend to fill in upon reduction. The size of the lettering should be no less than 1.5 mm after reduction to the Journal size (7.5 cm width). Keep in mind that the individual lines, data points need to be distinguishable also for printing in black and white. The figures are a major part of any paper; please design them as easy for the readers as possible! Especially Fig. 2 and 4 do not wisely use the space available, please try to make a better collage of the figures.  |
