Postdoctoral Research Opportunity at Washington State University (Pullman, WA)

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Washington State University has an opening for a highly-motivated postdoctoral researcher until the position is filled.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
1. Perform research related to Road Weather Management, Connected Vehicles, and Smart Infrastructure; 2. Maintain laboratory equipment to meet unique needs of the research activities, particularly those related to intelligent transportation systems (ITS); 3. Assist with preparation of grant proposals, presentations, and publications; 4. Supervise undergraduate and graduate students in research.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The prospective candidate should be highly motivated to perform research and publish in the transportation field with a focus on ITS or Smart Infrastructure. The candidate should also have experience with and active interest in ITS, sensor technologies, pattern recognition, Connected Vehicles, or other contemporary technologies in the transportation field.

Applicants will have either demonstrated, or shown a clear potential for, creative and independent research that would lead to strong extramurally-funded research and peer-reviewed publications. 

The preferred qualifications include:

Excellent communication skills in English (written and oral)

Prior experience with pattern recognition, Connected Vehicles, statistical analyses, or sustainability assessment

Strong problem-solving skills and creativity

Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
