[交流] 南洋理工PhD and PostDoc positions in Materials Science/Mathematics

Multiple theory PhD and PostDoc positions will be available from November 2017 in the group of Marco Battiato at the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.
Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore is a young research-intensive university that has invested enormously in research in the past years. In spite of its very young age, it is ranked in 2017 QS World ranking as 13th best university in the world; 7th for materials science; 4rd for engineering and technology; and 1st young university in the world.
NTU offers great and modern facilities and a vast access to fundings and opportunity careers.

The research will focus on
- the development of a massively parallel solver for the Boltzmann equation for strongly out-of-equilibrium states in real band structures and extended heterostructures;
- the study of ultrafast spin transport in metals and semiconductors;
- absorption and production of THz radiation in heterostructures;
- thermalisation dynamics and transport in topological insulators and perovskites.
The remuneration and travel budgets are competitive.

PhD positions (starting date: Jan 2018)
The candidate should have a degree in Physics, Mathematics or Engineering, and is required to be highly motivated and with a strong interest in theoretical and/or computational physics and/or mathematics. Fluency in English is required.

PostDoc positions (starting date: from Nov 2017)
The candidate should have an excellent scientific track record in physics or mathematics and experience in one (or more) of the following fields: theoretical and computational treatment of ultrafast dynamics in solids; Boltzmann equation; discontinuous Galerkin method.
Please include a brief cover letter with statement of scientific interests and competences, CV with publications list, two references for recommendation letters.
