Postdoc in Bioinformatics and Genomics RESPONSIBILITIES: The School of Biological Sciences, University of Nebraska, Lincoln, NE, USA, seeks applications for a post-doctoral research scientist to work on bioinformatics or computational biology, genomics, epigenetics, gene regulatory networks, etc. The successful candidate will conduct the research on diverse projects led by Dr. Chi Zhang. The candidate will also be responsible for assisting in the supervision of undergraduate students, developing new areas of research, and writing publications and grant applications. Appointment is for two years with a possibility of further extension. REQUIREMENTS: - PhD degree in Bioinformatics, Genomics, Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, Biostatistics, Physics, or related fields. -Practical experience of next-generation sequencing data analysis, computational systems biology and data integration, and solid knowledge in genomics, gene expression/regulation and biological networks. - Proven skills in programming (such as Perl and R), experience with Linux/Unix environments and algorithm design. - Self-motivated with excellent communication skills and an ability to work well in a team environment PREFERENCES: - Background of molecular biology is preferred.
