Using the esterification reaction between the octadecanoic acid and the octadecanol as a probe reaction, the performances of the catalysts were investigated, and the processing conditions for preparing the catalysts were optimized.

" the performances of the catalysts"
还是改成“the catalytic activities of the catalysts"吧，催化活性应该也能表达原文的意思。
