Since the AH has a lower electric potential, the reduction reaction is completely carried out. The reaction rate is controlled by the diffusion rates of the reactants as well as the migration rates of the reactants within the cells. The reduced product Cr(III) is ion-exchanged with the absorbent. Meanwhile, the positive charge of the Cr(III）promotes the progression of the reduction reaction of Cr(VI). |
